Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our G3 Boats in Lebanon, MO. The Quality Engineer (QE) performs inspections and sets quality testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. He/she assists in developing quality control policies. The QE work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. He/she contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the quality team in the creation of quality measures across the business. They are tasked with developing and enhancing both manual and automated tests and they create a zero-tolerance culture for products that the business offers. Lead organization in ISO 9001 certification.
  • Actively take part in the discovery and design phases of new product feature development and promotes continuous testing in an attempt to guarantee an error free final product. Identify any potential quality issues in both the new and already existing products, and report these to the relevant development managers.
  • Ensures that validated deliverables always meet functional, design specifications and requirements of the products, and keep relevant management informed on the status of testing processes, raising issues when necessary.
  • Regularly execute product tests and records the results during release cycles. Responsible for the identification of test requirements from defined specifications, mapping test case requirements, and designing test coverage plans. They also review functional and design specifications in order to ensure that there is a full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • Further develops documents and maintains functional test cases as well as all other test assets, for example, data validation scripts and test data. In charge of evaluating and executing both manual and automated test cases and reports for those results. Regular update of test plans, systems, integration, and functional test cases to be used by the department.
  • Analytical responsibilities conducting regular analysis of product requirements and produce test estimations. In this position, they must identify and report any defects in the product.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing usability tests and automation testing tools. Further design quality methodology and test approaches for use by the department.
  • Collaborate with product developers in driving issue resolution. In this collaboration, they also perform root-cause analysis of product issues in order to isolate issues and develop solutions that prevent recurrence.
  • Work with product development teams to ensuring that high quality and timely releases of product into market are realized. Work with the quality assurance team in designing and maintaining automation frameworks for the functional, regression, and automation testing of product.
  • Maintain knowledge of the industry best practices, introducing the most suitable practices to the business.
  • Perform other duties as he deems fit to the proper execution of his duties and duties as assigned by the Head of Quality Assurance, Director of Engineering, or the Employer.

Requirements:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Business Development, Product Management, or any other related field. An equivalent of the same in practical experience is also acceptable for this position.
  • Experience – At least 5 years of working experience in a Quality Engineer position within a business in a fast-paced and constantly evolving market. Must have experience in ISO 9001 Certification.
  • Experience testing web applications using both manual and automated test methods and further experience developing those automated testing tools. A suitable candidate will demonstrate experience in the collection of test requirements, creation of test systems, integration of test cases, and documentation of test results.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal form, as well as listening skills are all imperative for this position.
  • MS Office – MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are all necessary in the creation of both visually and verbally engaging analysis reports and presentations for quality assurance leadership and relevant product development teams.
  • Ability to demonstrate a passion for research and analysis and posses exceptional troubleshooting skills. Have knowledge of ISO 9001 Certification and the ability to query and manipulate the data.
  • Results oriented individual that is helpful and consumer-oriented, procedural and meticulous, a team-builder and team player, and have the ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
