Under direction of marine management, the Sr. Electrical Tech will perform Boat Power Systems research and development through accurate, timely and validated testing. Adhere to Testing Schedule for all Yamaha Boat Power Systems and Marine products.

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Electrical Tech to support our Marine department in Bridgeport, AL . Under direction of marine management, the Sr. Electrical Tech will perform Boat Power Systems research and development through accurate, timely and validated testing. Adhere to Testing Schedule for all Yamaha Boat Power Systems and Marine products. Provide timely and accurate data and testing results to management for all development activities.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide testing and development support for on all current and future products.
Provide data on benchmark results to show Yamaha’s overall performance status and areas where improvement is needed.
Propose new ideas for current and future marine products based on market need or product performance enhancement through modification or proto-typing.
Provide input on benchmark testing processes so that constant improvement can be made to YMC Branded Marine Products.
Provide support for engineering activities during development for manufacturing.
Maintain and prepare all necessary items for upcoming product testing so that development schedules can be reliable and accurate. Communicate with management to make adjustments in Development Schedules as needed when project status changes.
Perform testing to ensure and validate quality control with Yamaha and YMUS branded production. Ensure performance consistencies stay within documented tolerances. Summarize the results of each test and advise on next steps based on benchmark target.
Under guidance prepare and rig boats, engines and related equipment for testing. Assist in testing prototype parts and components from Japan.
Support Marketing and Sales Divisions as required by preparing boats, engines, etc. for meetings and events. Assist with event set up, operation and demonstration of product.
Assist with off-site testing, market surveys, and market issue investigation when requested.
Experience in Marine Rigging, Electronics, and Boat Controls systems is very beneficial
Requires 8 plus years previous Marine experience
Must have strong marine electrical systems knowledge
Must have excellent problem-solving abilities
Computer skills in Excel, Word, Adobe and Power Point
Close attention must be kept on engineering data and project results. Output should be kept confidential as it may change Yamaha's future.
Safe operation of all equipment must be observed.
