Copywriting Specialist - Outdoors

Are you a wordsmithing wiz with a passion for the outdoors? Gray Loon Marketing Group is looking to hire a creative writer who wakes up every day excited to connect outdoor consumers and brands with words. The writing will be digitally diverse - website copy, social, email, ads and more. Our clients need everything from creative headlines and hashtags to 1,000-word blog posts. Skills

• Creativity is a must - This job is about bringing brands attention through words and evoking a response among consumers. We need more than a good speller or a grammar guru - we need a clever creative.
• Hunting/shooting know-how - Candidate will create authentic and engaging copy for a variety of outdoor interests including hunting and shooting sports like deer hunting, turkey hunting, upland hunting, bowhunting, shotguns, rifles, ARs, and more. When applying, please specify the outdoor areas you have experience in and feel confident in writing authentic and effective copy.
• Dynamic writing ability - Whether it’s writing with bulletproof AP Style or masterful SEO best practices, we need someone who can do it all at a high level so that no matter the project, we have it covered.
• Big-picture thinking - Our clients have a variety of challenges and our job is to provide solutions. This job requires an understanding of our clients’ big picture goals and how we’ll exceed those through our efforts.
• Comfortable in a deadline-driven environment - Some projects are proactive with time to fine-tune and some projects are reactive and rushed with quick solutions being the only solution. We need someone who juggles multiple projects and multiple deadlines and makes it look easy.
• Comfortable working on a team - Very few projects will be solo. This position will work within a team and that means multiple perspectives, personalities and professional opinions on most projects. It requires checking ego at the door.

Requirements

• College degree in an applicable field of study such as English, journalism, public relations, marketing or business
• At least two years of applicable professional experience
• Genuine and authentic interest in hunting, fishing and firearms
