POSITION SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement Lead is an integral role in leading organizational change through formal and informal teaching venues, active 1-on-1 mentoring and troubleshooting with employees, Black Belt level project execution, and articulating a vision of a future state that influences others to change. The Continuous Improvement Lead is a strong customer advocate, often looking at a process or outcome from a customer perspective and acting in the customer's best interest.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of inner drive and strong desire to tackle the biggest challenges in an organization, curiosity as to why the current state exists, tenacity to not stop when others have, and capacity to dive into the data extracting the nuggets of truth that escape casual observation.

ROLES AND RESPONSBILITIES

• Act as cross functional coach, as well as facilitator to gain buy in, resolve conflict and deliver results while challenging conventional thinking.
• Lead cross functional projects that deliver improvements in the eyes of our customers
• Teach and mentor green belt candidates and projects.
• Ensure projects achieve desired results and Green Belts achieve certification.
   
• Energize, coach and facilitate cross functional teams, while fostering an environment of trust, camaraderie, teamwork and results
• Find more ways to let the voice of our operators be heard and ideas for improvement acted upon to improve our company in the eyes of our customers
• Be the example to leaders across our company, helping them to see through adversity, deal with ambiguity and follow a vision to new and improved processes
• Maintain a relentless focus on removing waste to add capacity and give the business room for growth
• Assist leaders and managers with project prioritization and initiation
• Perform a variety of tasks as well as lead and direct the work of others
• Courage to act when others hesitate and it matters to our customers (customer advocate)
• Ability to act as an inclusive leader with humility and an openness to diverse ideas and input

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of experience leading process improvements in a manufacturing environment
• Black Belt Certification preferred
• Track record of natural curiosity with demonstrated continuous effort to develop and grow self and others (read books, take classes, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills required; Working knowledge of WORD and presentation skills required
• Demonstrated ability in a startup program or significant contribution to an LSS rollout

• Must possess strong knowledge of Lean product flow and process development as related to all aspects of production from order receipt through delivery.
   
• Must possess strong working knowledge of Six Sigma principles/methods including Statistical Process Control, Capability Analysis, and A3 problem solving tools.
   
• Ability to develop and maintain tools to calculate/validate capacities, takt time, cycle time, defects, COPQ, and line balance studies.
• Experience assembling supplier quotes and capital equipment justifications that introduce new technologies into existing processes.
