SUMMARY
This role will support the growth of the Fishing Systems Category Business Team’s high-end product innovation objectives. Reporting into the Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Product Manager in product delivery, vision, and roadmap in line with Navico Group’s purpose, mission, and strategic plan.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a deep understanding of our technical support network and users, their challenges, and how our product delivers value and delight.
- Continue to enhance the close and trusted relationships with R&D, Service, key customers, and product marketing.
- Be responsible for driving the technical support for your category, making decisions which take advantage of a continuous delivery flow and drive a rapid feedback loop to enhance our capability to maintain the best-in-class relationship with our technical support network and users.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to research and map opportunities against the product vision.
- Collaborate with our R&D team (designers and engineers) to experiment with options, understand user behaviour, and make balanced decisions on design and depth of execution.
- Measure and monitor the roll out against feature design assumptions and incorporate feedback back into the product cycle.
- Partner with product management on launch plans to ensure a smooth adoption of service strategy and distribution of service parts, pricing, and programs.
- Interface with R&D management to promote the selection of new technologies that will address existing and new customer requirements better than our competitors while minimizing cost and risk.
- Assist in strategic development and lifecycle management of product through technical support of product segments and accounts with new introductions, and the end of life of product(s) being replaced or no longer needed, across all relevant regions.
- Support the Product Directors with supporting the wider product expert team and leading practice initiatives.
- Initial point of contact for escalated customer service issues
- Identify, develop, and collaborate on technical literature as it relates to service issues, bulletins, training, and new product development for product segment
- Other duties as requested to support the product segment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant marine experience in installation, support, and system design of relevant technology
- A strong technical background (works with R&D and electronic engineering) with innovative electronic products
- Experience managing cost parameters, business planning and ROI assessments around product investment is advantageous.
- Electronics R&D or marine industry experience is a plus.
