Our purpose is to share our skills, knowledge, and love of the outdoors through our programs and events. Outdoor Discovery Programs bring the L.L.Bean brand to life and instills a lifelong love of the outdoors for our participants.
Instructors needed for this location:
- Kayaking
- SUP
- Archery
- Map & Compass
- Fly Casting
Skills and Qualifications:
- First Aid/CPR training
- Participates in all required pre- and mid-season training sessions
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and encourage participants
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Established time management and organization skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, motivation and positive attitude
- Knowledge of active gear for the activity you are teaching
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekday evenings, weekends and holidays
Preferred:
- Certification or specialized training in outdoor related activities
- Proven experience planning, organizing and leading outdoor experience trips
- Retail experience
Course Curriculum:
- Is willing to develop technical skills and a firm understanding of course content
- Possesses the ability to teach in a relaxed, clear and confident manner to a variety of participants and skill levels
- Effectively balances leadership and delivers all components of the curriculum in the allotted time
- Comfortable speaking to groups while delivering course material
- Completes daily paperwork

Seeks to learn and share knowledge of skills, interpretive facts, equipment and proper use with peers, colleagues and participants
Education Level: High School or GED
