Freeport Maine is looking for a Systems Management Engineer to join our team, This person will need to be passionate, proactive and with proven experience in systems configuration, automation, and monitoring tools. Will primarily be responsible for Splunk, Ansible, and Configuration Manager and other monitoring automation and configuration management tools. Other tools include, OmniCenter, Extrahop, ThousandEyes, Gigamon, Cacti, Jamf, Mobi, Cisco Prime and Cisco DNA. This position is critical to maintain a secure and highly available environment for L.L.Bean.
Responsibilities:
In this critical role you will work with a dedicated team of professionals to proactively design, engineer, and maintain the best configuration, automation, and monitoring solutions. You will be consulted as the expert on how to best use the tools. You will also support advanced problem analysis and isolate highly complex issues, develop effective working relationships with technology and business stakeholders, maximize tool posture through ongoing monitoring, ensuring all tools meet the demand as the needs grow. This role will set the direction of future tooling needs by providing architectural roadmap guidance and budgeting year over year. Having a strong understanding of tools like Splunk and Ansible is a must. Also, must have good scripting knowledge like python, yaml, power shell. This role will provide systems management leadership and coaching to other members of the team and set the example for others to follow. An on-call rotation is divided among the team. Some on site work may be needed occasionally.

Requirements:
You should have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, DevOps Engineer or related areas, a minimum of 5+ years of experience, hands-on technical knowledge of configuration, monitoring and automation tooling. Proficient with; Splunk, Ansible, Configuration Manager with any related certifications that may apply. A good understanding of tools like OmniCenter, ExtraHop, ThousandEyes, Gigamon, Cacti, Jamf, Mobi, HPNA, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA and Windows and Linux. Nice to have knowledge in Cisco or network related certifications, customer service oriented, excellent communications skills and able to work in a team-oriented environment.
