L.L. Bean is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Merchandising and Product Creation Management team, which manages complex initiatives affecting or initiated by the Merchandising Department.
Purpose: As a Merchandising Senior Project Manager, you’ll collaborate with our in-house partners and external partners and vendors to develop best-in-class product. Our work spans across all channels both domestic and international markets and will include Wholesale, International, B2B, special projects and other important strategic initiatives as assigned including cultivating new and lucrative on-brand partnerships and advancing the department through cutting-edge technology and processes.

The Merchandising Senior Project Manager works under minimal supervision to plan, direct and coordinate activities cross-departmental and intra-departmental project(s) to ensure goals or objectives of the project(s) are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and budgetary parameters.
Responsibilities:
Applies established procedures and basic project management methodologies
Work with sponsoring management to define project scope, outcomes, and priorities
Develop project definition, timelines, milestones, and role clarification for all people involved in the project. Assign tasks and necessary resources. Review with management
Determine work teams, consultants, or individuals critical to involve in the project and bring together as necessary
Ensure continuous communication around the project occurs as required
Keep management informed of progress to goal; negotiate adjustments to the schedule and resources to ensure overall quality of completed project
Act as liaison with internal and external consultants, ensuring adequate information is readily available and coordinating activities in line with the project plan
Make recommendations to project sponsor(s) and ensure an action plan is established that will lead to the successful implementation of project recommendations
Plan for and report measurements to document and evaluate the success of the projects
Coordinate the planning and implementation of the project recommendations and outcomes
May work with external vendors to assist in negotiating contracts
May assume people management responsibilities for the duration of the project
Assume additional related responsibilities as requested

Skills and Qualifications:
BA/BS required
5+ years of experience required
A deep interest in a wide range of product and understanding of the competitive landscape is essential
Experience in implementing cutting-edge technologies and successfully introducing new processes and procedures
Resourceful self-starter and solution-seeker who demonstrates a high level of initiative
Collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate across wide range of partners and audiences
Comfortable with change, and has a strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders of varying seniority and backgrounds
Ability to anticipate long-term, upstream and downstream impacts of decisions
Exceptional organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
Experience in project managing a creative team in an agency or in-house environment a plus
Solid understanding of a typical creative workflow, and experience producing various types of media a plus
