The Position: Fabric Cutter- Sewing

Our Virginia Beach facility is seeking a Fabric Cutter- Sewing to add to our team. The Fabric Cutter- Sewing is expected to contribute a great deal to the effectiveness of the company. Carry out the required cutting of materials, assigned in the production schedule, according to the product specifications. Sew materials if capable or willing to be trained..

Responsibilities: Including but not limited to

1.           Operate and program the cutting machine ensuring that the materials to be cut meet the required specifications.

2.           Make sure that the work order has a “batch header”.

3.           Ensure compliance with product specifications.

4.           Ensure that the materials are used according to the required consumption.

5.           Report the consumption of materials on the indicated sheet.

6.           Provide preventive maintenance to the machinery and equipment to be used.

7.           Maintain high quality standards in the production carried out.

8.           Participate in other tasks and projects, as assigned.

9.           Keep your area clean and organized.

10.         Comply with policies, procedures and work instructions.

11.         Participate in other tasks and projects, as assigned.

12.         Comply with security rules and procedures, as well as company policies.

13.         Cut parts using manual and automatic hot and cold cutters.

14.         Cut fabric, plastic and foam with computerized cutters, including the laser cutter.

15.         Make marking patterns, as well as on parts and fabric

16.         Drill and set snaps and grommets.

17.         Operate heat press.

18.         Maintain supplies on the cutting floor in an organized manner and report shortages.

19.         Put away incoming supplies.

20.         Learn how to make cutting layouts for the various cutting machines.

21.         Inventory counts of raw materials to assure we get the needed supplies ordered.

22.         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 1 year of related experience.

2. Knowledge of computers and keyboard skills.

3. Skills in calculations of linear measurements and mathematics.

4. Teamwork skills.

5. Basic oral and written communication skills in English
