Job Description

Remington Ammunition / Vista Outdoor is looking to add Student Drafting Interns for our Lonoke, AR location for the summer 2022. 

Shift:  Mon.-Fri. 7am-3:30pm, Summer

Primary Responsibilities:

• Update and modify layout of plant to accurately represent facilities and equipment
• Prepare clear and accurate CAD drawings and models using SolidWorks from sketches, verbal or written instructions, sample parts and prototypes in a timely manner

• Perform mathematical computations as necessary to establish unspecified angles and dimensions as needed to provide fully constrained models and drawings
• Create and maintain solid models used for computer-based machining and fabrication.  This may include working with programmers or engineers to prepare ".step" or ".stl" files for use in CNC machining or 3D printing
• Process Drawing Change Orders ("DCO") detailing drawing and model revisions, approvals, and distribution.  Work with Engineers and Technicians to understand and accurately capture the design or change intent into the drawing.

• Follow all safety rules, plant policies, and treat colleagues with respect.
• Special projects may also be assigned.

EDUCATION

Currently enrolled student in an accredited by Higher learning commission technical college or university; Jr.-Sr. preferred (graduates are ineligible unless currently enrolled in a graduate degree program).

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Familiarity with and ability to perform mathematical operations including algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

OTHER SKILLS AND ACTIVITIES

Must be experienced using computers with word processing, spreadsheets, SolidWorks, and proficient in AutoCAD.  Be able to use and read a tape measure and blueprints.
