POSITION SUMMARY:
The Risk Manager partners closely with the Director of Risk Management to ensure a proactive and systematic approach to identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risk throughout the company. The Risk Manager actively assists the Director of Risk Management in the application and procurement of various lines of insurance policies as assigned, claims management, data analytics, oversight of broker and third-party administrators, and other duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Develop and implement claims investigation and reporting policies and procedures.
· Oversight and management of claims administrators across multiple lines of insurance as assigned, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational risk strategy.
· Maintain loss and claims information systems (RMIS) and ensure data accuracy.
· Provide claims analytics, reporting, and insights for leadership.
· Deliver training on claims processes and related risk topics.
· Manage regulatory filings and compliance as required.
· Produce regular internal risk and claims reports as well as special analysis as requested.
· Ensure adherence to best practices and organizational risk‑management standards.
· Manage insurance policy renewal processes for various insurance policyies as assigned.
· Support marketing, placement, and negotiation of insurance programs.
· Oversee property engineering, Statement of Values (SOV), and valuation processes as assigned.
· Manage insurance budget allocation as assigned.
· Maintain auto fleet schedules and manage the surety bond program as assigned.
· Coordinate Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and other required filings.
· Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Risk Management or other Finance related field.
· Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree Risk Management or Finance.
· Certificate(s) or License(s) considered but not required: ARM, CRIS, CPCU.
· Experience: 3+ years of experience in Risk Management, Insurance Claims, Insurance Advising/Broking.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
· Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance or finance, a related field or equivalent experience.
· Three years or more of relevant experience in insurance, workers’ compensation or risk management.
· ARM, CPCU, CRIS designations a plus
· Comprehensive knowledge of issues related to risk management including knowledge of insurance coverages and policies, property, worker’s compensation, and general liability.
· Superior skills in time management, Microsoft Office applications, problem solving, attention to detail, maintaining strict confidentiality and ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationship with others is required.
· Ability and willingness to work independently, meet deadlines, multi-task and take on new challenges is preferred
· Mostly sedentary work in an office environment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
· Approximately 10% within U.S.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Regularly performs computer work and sits.
· Occasionally walks and stands.
· Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
· Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
