Is Outdoor Occupations a recruiter?

Outdoor Occupations is not an agency, nor a recruiter - we are a jobs board marketplace just for outdoor recreation related industries. We are a jobs listing service, where you can find high quality job postings all over the world in one convenient place. Companies, agencies, and recruiters in the fishing, boating, marine, hunting, firearms, hiking, biking, paddlesports, and more outdoor related industries come to our site to find a large selection of qualified job seekers such as writers, marketers, advertisers, managers, salespeople, creative professionals, customer service representatives, technicians, etc.  We also have a large selection of useful resources in the blog area of our site which job seekers can feel free to share.  Please note that Outdoor Occupations is strictly a job listing service, not the organization responsible for hiring or offering the job opportunity.  Please direct all questions to the recruiter or employer.  

 

Do I have to pay to use the site?

Outdoor Occupations is totally free to use for job seekers, with the exception of premium job seeker or third party services. Recruiters pay to list their jobs on the site. As a job seeker, you simply create a profile and you’re ready to list your resume, browse jobs, or look through the useful resources in our blog area free of charge.

 

How do I create a profile?

To create a profile on Outdoor Occupations, click on ‘Sign Up’ in the top right-hand corner of the homepage and choose account type: Job Seeker. You can then create an account on the site using your email address, or sign in with LinkedIn or Facebook. You can then fill out your personal details. Please note that the more information you provide at this stage, the better your chances of successful applications with potential employers. Remember to include your name and surname, and proper use of spelling, use of capital letters and grammar. Photos, recommendations and relevant certifications and qualifications will also improve the strength of your applications.

 

How can I apply for a job? Do I need to create a profile?


Yes, in order to apply for a job you will need to create a profile first using the instructions above. Having done this, simply click to send your application directly to the recruiter. Please note that Outdoor Occupations is a job board marketplace service, not the organization responsible for hiring or offering the job opportunity.  

 

What does Outdoor Occupations do with my job seeker details?

Outdoor Occupations uses your application, resume and relevant documents when you apply for a position and makes these documents available for the company you are applying with to view. If you have also uploaded your resume to our website it will stay on the database for at least two years and you have the option to make it available for recruiters to view. If you wish to remove your information, you can do so at any time. Outdoor Occupations will never disclose your personal data to a 3rd party without your permission. How can I add or change the information in my profile or my account settings?


To edit your profile, log into the database using the log-in button, click 'My Resumes' and click edit. From here you will be able to make changes to your resumes. You can also click on account settings to change or recover your password, edit your cover letter or add a different email address.


Why haven’t I received a response to my application?


When you apply for your position, the recruitment agency or employer will be notified by our system. Many recruiters receive a large number of applications to their posts. For this reason, if your application is unsuccessful you may not receive a response from the agency advertising the position.  Please note that Outdoor Occupations is a job listing service, not the organization responsible for hiring or offering the job opportunity. 

 

Can I remove my data from the site if I need to?

You can delete your profile or uploaded resume at any time. Just log into your account, and select “delete account” from the candidate dashboard. Alternatively, contact us directly and we will action this request for you at our earliest convenience.
