POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager oversees, administers, and supports quality and improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises day to day operations, trains, and develops QA staff members.
Oversees, administers, supports, tracks all Quality Control efforts.
Works closely with operations, administration, and corporate-based teams, to ensure cross-functional cooperation and communication.
Actively participates in Continuous Improvement/Kaizen/Lean efforts.
Reports items or circumstances which may negatively impact quality and help to develop solutions to solve such issues.
Participates in the creation and documentation of standard work practices.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma
Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s in related field
Experience: Marine industry experience preferred, but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Working knowledge of production operation.
Familiarity with CI/Lean/Kaizen processes
Excellent verbal, written and computer skills.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimal including occasional travel to other WRMG facilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular computer work, walking and standing
Occasional sitting and lifting up to 50lbs
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
