ABOUT THE POSITION
The Senior SAP Security and Basis Administrator in the Columbia Digital Technology (CDT) team is a senior technical resource, who is primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting security roles, authorizations, and compliance activities across multiple SAP landscapes, with an extended Basis admin responsibility. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams along with deep expertise in S/4 HANA, Fiori, ECC, BW/BI and SAP GRC Access Control.
Based in the India Global Capability Center (GCC), this position partners closely with global teams and plays a key role in executing Columbia Sportswear’s SAP Security design strategy, overseeing role and authorizations development, authorization issues diagnosis, and root‑cause resolution across all SAP environments.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
SAP Security (Primary Focus)
- Design, implement, and maintain SAP security roles, profiles, and authorization concepts across S/4HANA, ECC, Fiori, BW/BI, and GRC
- Manage user provisioning, access requests, and role assignments following established governance and compliance frameworks
- Lead SAP GRC Access Control activities, including ARM, ARA, BRM, and EAM configuration and monitoring
- Conduct Segregation of Duties (SoD) analysis, remediation, and continuous improvement of access controls
- Perform periodic access reviews, user access monitoring, and compliance checks
- Partner with functional and business teams to understand processes and translate them into secure and compliant authorization designs
- Partner with audit, compliance, and business teams to support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to security policies
- Evaluate and enhance security architecture, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational standards
- Support security testing, including UAT, regression testing, and project‑related security validation
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams
- On-call support when needed
SAP Basis (Secondary Scope)
- Provide operational support for SAP system landscapes, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW/BI, Solution Manager, and Fiori, etc.
- Assist with system performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Support transport management, system refreshes and environment maintenance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams on patching, upgrades, and system availability.
- Monitor system performance and take proactive steps to address bottlenecks, memory issues, dumps, and security vulnerabilities.
- Follow procedures and standards regarding Transports and Corrections in conjunction with requirements defined by Change and Release Management
YOU ARE
- 8 - 12 years of IT experience required, with at least 8 years of experience in an SAP Security Administration capacity
- Deep experience in:
- SAP S/4HANA Security
- SAP Fiori Security (catalogues, groups, spaces, pages)
- ECC Security
- BW/BI Security
- SAP GRC Access Control
- Strong understanding of ABAP authorization concepts, role design methodologies, and compliance Framework.
- Practical, hands-on experience with SAP GRC Access Control 12.0 (ARM, ARA, BRM, EAM).
- Strong understanding of SoD principles, mitigating controls, and overall SAP security governance.
- Ability to analyse business processes and map them into secure role designs.
- Experience with supporting multi‑system, multi‑client SAP landscapes
- Familiarity with SAP transport management, system monitoring tools, and Basis fundamentals
- Proven ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within required timelines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
YOU HAVE
- Knowledge of SAP BTP Identity Management, Integration Suite, and cloud security best practices
- Exposure to SAP SNC, SSO, or other identity management tools
- Experience with Basis administration of SAP environments
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence (Atlassian tools)
