POSITION SUMMARY:
The Intern-Resort is responsible for preparing and portioning food for the resort’s Food & Beverage outlets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepares, portions, and serves stocks, breading items, cold salads, dressings, sandwich making, vegetable, fruit prepping and fryer work according to standard recipes.
Handles knives and operate small kitchen equipment safely.
Works well with others in a close environment with an aptitude for learning.
Follows kitchen chain of command, i.e., Chefs, Cook I, Cook II, Cook III.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be at least 18 years old, have a safe driving record and the ability to obtain a Missouri class E or Arkansas P designated driver’s license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
