General:
This position is responsible for the building of new fiberglass tooling masters and production tooling and for implementing changes to existing tooling. It is also responsible for the maintenance and repair of such molds. Start pay $16.00 per hour, full time with benefits.
Tools and Equipment:
Chopper gun, gel coat spray gun, various air powered grinders, manual and power sanders, dremel tools, buffers, powered fiberglass saws, laser aligners, paint brushes and rollers, woodshop power tools, general fiberglass manufacturing materials, and personal protective equipment such as: safety glasses with side shields, tyvec suits, air purifying respirator, dust mask, boot covers, and aprons (when applicable).
Duties:
1. Use accepted methods to build new masters, mock ups, molds, and specialized splashes
2. Reshape and alter the dimensions of existing tooling masters and molds. This may require the use of precise measuring equipment such as laser aligners and bubble levels
3. Inspect molds for areas that are in need of maintenance or repair
4. Select the proper methods to complete work such as grinding, dremeling, sanding, glassing, spraying, resurfacing, reshaping, or reinforcing
5. Washing and waxing molds to make ready for production
6. Keep work area safe, clean, and hazard free
7. Other duties as assigned
