S3DA Names Ryan Hudson Colorado State Coordinator

Williamsburg, KY – Scholastic 3-D Archery has named Ryan Hudson as the S3DA™ Colorado State Coordinator. Ryan will oversee all aspects of the S3DA™ program in Colorado. Ryan’s goals as the State Coordinator include building a coaching staff of S3DA™ certified instructors across the western region and working with contacts to build a larger foundation of clubs and teams throughout Colorado. Ryan has already started working on these goals by hiring two Regional Coordinators to develop and operate S3DA™ within their assigned regions of Colorado. As a large western state with an ample archery background, Ryan’s main goal is to get more S3DA™ student memberships.

Ryan was born and raised in Fruita, Colorado and has pretty much stayed in the Colorado area. He currently lives on a farm with his family and they raise market hogs and sheep as well as show swine, goats and beef across the western states. Ryan graduated with a degree in Ichthyology and Wildlife Management. He is currently a Rifle High School FFA Advisor and Instructor, Colorado Hunter Education Instructor, USA Archery Level II Instructor, NASP Instructor and Colorado 4-H Archery State Team Instructor. Ryan has been shooting since he was a little kid and it all started when his grandpa gave him a Colt Recurve and a few cedar shaft arrows. Ryan’s family is very involved with archery and they are all hunters. Some animals that they have hunted to date include deer, elk and goose.

When Ryan got older, he began to teach and found showing others the joy and challenge of archery feels as successful as doing it himself. Ryan stated, “Working with all the programs there is a way to get every student successfully shooting if they want. It makes me smile, as I enjoy working with young adults in shooting sports and outdoor adventures.”

Ryan learned about S3DA™ as he was looking for more opportunities for kids to learn to shoot archery. He saw the S3DA™ program at “The Vegas Shoot” in 2017 and became curious about the program. Ryan said S3DA™ was a great program for all ages and he was really excited that the program offered a true potential for shooter success with a bow as well as with education and life-long skills.

Ryan Hudson states, “As a State Coordinator, we are going to see how it goes as we bring more coaches into the mix with the growth. We will work with Chris McDonald, National Outreach Coordinator and others to evaluate what areas we need to work on for the future.”
